It
is without any doubt WOOD that is my favourite material to work with.
As a matter of fact, the structure of the wood itselfs gives an extra
dimension of warmth to the sculpture.
Making use of the
often twisting or swinging growth of the tree, I can entirely realize my
beloved hollow and convex shapes, which are based on swinging lines.
It happens very often that the sculpture’s shape is extremely open, just
to create this special effect of space. Finally, all those swinging
shapes are asking for a very sleeky finishing film and in this way the
grain of the wood is very well seen and really honoured. |
